Kisii Governor Simba Arati has called on residents to question former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua about his two years in office before his impeachment.
Speaking yesterday, Arati accused Gachagua of doing little for the country and instead focusing on politics of division.
Arati’s remarks come just days before Gachagua is set to visit the Kisii region. The former deputy president is currently working to win the support of Kisii voters as he builds his political influence ahead of the 2027 elections.
His goal is to consolidate votes from various regions in an effort to challenge President William Ruto.
During his speech, Arati urged Kisii residents to demand accountability from Gachagua. He said that leaders should be judged by their track record, not just their words.
“Before listening to him, ask him what he did in office for two years,” Arati told the crowd.
