Charles Odhiambo, a former presenter at Ramogi FM, has strongly denied rumors that he was attacked and injured.
Recently, reports circulated claiming that he had been brutally beaten and was in the hospital. However, Odhiambo, who is also the Chief of Staff in Homa Bay, spoke with Ramogi TV and dismissed these claims as false.
During a phone interview, Odhiambo laughed off the rumors, stating that he was safe and healthy. He linked the false reports to political smear campaigns aimed at damaging his reputation. “These rumors are just lies meant to harm my name,” he insisted.
The speculation started when a well-known blogger alleged that Odhiambo had been ambushed by a group of attackers. In response, Odhiambo clarified where he was during the time of the supposed attack.
He mentioned that he was at Yaya Centre, taking care of his car. “I’m here at Yaya Centre getting my car fixed. If anyone doubts me, come and see for yourself,” he said, inviting people to check on him.
Odhiambo also revealed that he had been warned about such false claims as he becomes more involved in politics. “Politics is challenging, and people often use lies to discredit others,” he noted. He feels that as he gains more recognition in the political arena, he should expect more attacks on his character.
He expressed his disappointment over the rumors, stating, “I saw people online trying to damage the reputation of someone who is focused on his family and doing good work.” Odhiambo pointed out that in politics, when someone feels threatened by another’s success, they may resort to character attacks.
In addition to addressing the attack rumors, Odhiambo shared insights about the political landscape. He mentioned, “When I realize someone is smarter than me, I might feel the need to undermine them. That’s just how politics works.”
