Jubilee Party Chairperson Jeremiah Kioni has reaffirmed that the party will remain in the opposition and not align with the Kenya Kwanza government despite ongoing political realignments. Speaking on Saturday, March 15, Kioni emphasized that Jubileeās focus is on strengthening its structures and preparing for the 2027 elections.
Kioni revealed that the party is keen on fronting former Interior CS Fred Matiangāi as a potential presidential candidate, stating that Jubilee would not rush into coalitions before solidifying its grassroots presence. He dismissed the agreement between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, claiming it would not change public perception of the government.
The former Ndaragwa MP also criticized Rutoās development tours, calling them premature campaigns that could backfire. He accused the president of enabling rising insecurity in Nairobi.
Earlier this year, Kioni expressed confidence that Matiangāi could challenge Ruto in 2027, urging Kenyans to embrace leaders from minority communities and break Mount Kenyaās dominance in national politics.
