Nakuru: Molo sub-county police commander Timon Odingo has outlined the circumstances surrounding the Migaa accident that left 13 people dead.

The deadly accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.
How did the Migaa accident happen?
In an interview with Nation, Odingo said the lorry carrying coffee lost control, swerved on the highway, and struck the walls on the road, breaking them.

The police boss added the lorry then began following a PSV matatu. It was at this time, that the lorry’s container fell on the matatu pushing it into the ditch.
As a result, 13 people died, including nine men, four women, and one child.
“After hitting the wall, it followed the matatu. Afterwards, the lorry’s container fell on the matatu. As a result of the tragic incident, we have lost 13 people that we have counted. Among those who died are nine men, four women and one child,” Odingo said.
He also added that authorities recovered body parts, including hands and legs, from the accident scene. He confirmed that the parts were taken to the hospital to determine the exact number.
Odingo also urged motorists to be cautious when using the Eldoret-Nakuru highway, especially near Migaa, which has become a blackspot.
He said investigations are underway to determine if brake failure caused the accident.
