Crowd Shouts Back at Raila Odinga After he Asked Whether he Should Vie Again in 2027 (VIDEO)

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga received a clear answer from the crowd he was addressing in Maanzoni, Machakos County, after asking whether he should vie for Presidency in 2027 or not.

Raila had told the crowd of mourners that the reason he has decided to support President William Ruto’s government is because he wants several problems affecting Kenyans solved.

Raila said that it is important that as leaders, they give the government an opportunity to deliver their promises to the people. He said that Kenya can not be in a campaign money for the whole five years, as he urged leaders to desist from politics before 2027.

“Hatuwezikupiga siasa miaka mitano mfululizo. Hiyo nchi haiweziendelea mbele, maanake mkiweka nchi katika Hali ya campaign, itakuwa Ni kelele mingi tu hakuna kazi inafanyika (We cannot Campaign for the whole 5 years. The country can’t move forward because if you are in a campaign mode, it will just be a lot of noise but no work done),” Raila said.

“Mpaka tukuwe na wakati kazi inafanyika alafu baadaye tunarudi kwa siasa (We have to have a period to deliver before we come back to politics later),” he added.

Raila told the crowd that when 2027 comes, people, including him, will have the opportunity to present themselves for Kenyans to chose who will lead them.

However, he said that that it is not a must that he have to vie come 2027. Raila said that he is aware that Kenyans have been saying that he is too old and should quit politics.

It is at this point that the seasoned opposition leader asked the crowd whether they want him to vie in 2027, receiving a clear answer from the crowd.

“Si mlisema Raila ni mzee Sana?… Baba aendelee hasiendelee? Baba akae nyumbani asikae? (Did you not say that Raila is too old? Should Baba continue or not? Should Baba stay at home?),” Raila asked the crowd.

“Hapana (No),” the crowd shouted back to show that they want Raila to vie again come 2027.
