Kenyans Go Berserk as Police Ask for Help to Probe Accident Caused by Ruto’s Convoy: “Izi ni Gani?”

Kenyans flooded the National Police Service X account to voice their frustrations after the police requested help in investigating an accident involving President William Ruto’s motorcade.

In a statement issued Thursday, March 13, the police urged the public to report any information that could assist with their investigation into the accident.

“Following a road traffic accident that occurred today at Adams Arcade along Ngong’ Road involving a government vehicle which resulted in the death of a pedestrian who is a foreign national. The National Police Service is now handling the matter and investigations have commenced,” the statement read in part.

“We encourage anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to report to the nearest police station or through our toll-free numbers.”

National Police Service spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga also urged pedestrians and motorists to exercise caution to prevent accidents.

Some Kenyans responded to the NPS post, questioning why the police were seeking help from civilians when they knew the car involved belonged to Ruto’s motorcade.
