Nairobi: President William Ruto is on his fourth day of touring Nairobi county as he launches various development projects across the city.

On Thursday, March 13, Ruto visited Lang’ata and Kibera, where he commissioned the Lang’ata Technical and Vocational College, aimed at training and empowering over 2,000 youth to drive economic growth.
“We will build more classrooms and equip the Lang’ata Technical and Vocational College to train and empower more than 2,000 youth to drive our country’s economic growth,” said Ruto.

What happened at Ayany Primary School, Kibra?
However, tension erupted in Kibera as police officers were caught on camera beating up and roughing up youths who attempted to access Ayany Primary School, where the president was addressing residents.
The situation escalated when plainclothes officers descended on the youths, using batons to disperse them as wails filled the air.
Even those who managed to gain access to the venue were not spared, as they were also roughed up by the officers.
The incident comes at a time when Ruto has faced heckling from rowdy youths in various events.
The police brutality has sparked outrage among Kenyans, especially given Kibera’s strong political ties to ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is widely regarded as the “political kingpin” of the area and his recent truce with the president.

“The police have always exhibited inefficiencies in crowd management, often due to inadequate training, poor strategies & limited resources. Their capacity to maintain order during large gatherings is severely constrained, often resulting in excessive force and poor coordination.”

“Mbona huyo kijana anapigwa makofi. Can I get access to him? I’m a lawyer and that is a violation. Excessive use of force and assault and battery, tupatane court.”

“What is all this? Is our president okay when all these meetings he has been doing, Kenyans have suffered in the hands of thugs? What is the agenda for these meetings, because they are a waste of resources, wasting time for business people and destroying the economy further. Politically, this nation is treading on a very dangerous path.”
@nathanrobe
“Same Kibra youths shouting “tuko kwa serikali sasa, serikali ni yetu” are being beaten by police not to access the president? yawa! Watajua ni Raila only ako kwa serikali.”
