Senators Demand Parliamentary Action in Brian Odhiambo’s Case, Challenge KWS Narrative

In powerful display of support for the family of Brian Odhiambo, Senators Mohamed Faki, Okiya Omtata, and Daniel Maanzo have called for urgent parliamentary intervention in the ongoing investigation into Odhiambo’s disappearance. The three senators voiced their concerns regarding the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) narrative, which they believe is insufficient and misleading in providing clarity on Odhiambo’s fate.

Speaking during a heated debate, Senator Maanzo emphasized the dire need for justice, stating, “Justice is being denied to Brian Odhiambo’s family. What is going on in court needs to be supported by Parliament.” Maanzo called for clear answers, urging KWS to provide concrete information about the missing individuals, especially in light of recent tragic events. The senator expressed frustration over the recent discovery of a body, where a post-mortem contradicted KWS’s earlier claims about the cause of death, further deepening the mystery.

The case, which has garnered national attention, has left many questions unanswered, particularly regarding the whereabouts of the missing individuals. The senators are demanding that the authorities provide clarity, urging KWS to offer “a hint” about the missing person’s location to help bring some closure to the grieving family.

Senator Omtata also voiced his concerns, emphasizing that Parliament should play an active role in ensuring transparency and justice. He condemned the lack of action and accountability, stressing that the government must ensure that the family is not left in the dark.

The call for action comes at a time when the nation is questioning the adequacy of the authorities’ responses to cases of missing persons, with families increasingly frustrated by the lack of answers. The senators’ plea is a call for justice and accountability, with a demand for KWS and other relevant authorities to take immediate steps toward revealing the truth.
