President William Ruto is reportedly planning a major Cabinet reshuffle to accommodate supporters of ODM party leader Raila Odinga. According to a leading daily, at least three Cabinet Secretaries have been marked for replacement, with ODM loyalists expected to take their positions.
Health Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa is among those likely to be removed, following public uproar over the Social Health Authority (SHA). Her replacement is expected to come from ODM as part of the broader political realignment.
Public Service CS Justin Muturi is also reportedly on the chopping block. His vocal criticism of President Ruto’s leadership, including recent remarks linking the Head of State to abductions, has put him at odds with the administration. Speculation suggests that Peter Munya could take over his position.
Trade CS Rebecca Miano is the third minister at risk of being replaced. Her exit would make way for Raphael Tuju, a former Jubilee Secretary-General and close ally of Raila Odinga.
Notably, all three affected CSs hail from the Mt. Kenya region, signaling a possible shift in political alliances as Ruto seeks to consolidate support ahead of the next political phase.
