Raila Claps Back at Critics; “Nimesaliti Nani?” Defends Ruto Deal with Fierce Message

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has hit back at critics questioning his recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with President William Ruto, dismissing claims that he has betrayed his supporters.

Raila firmly defended his decision to engage with Ruto, insisting that the deal serves the interests of Kenyans.

“Nimesaliti nani? Hakuna mtu nimesaliti,” Raila declared, responding to growing discontent from sections of his political base who view the agreement as a betrayal of the opposition struggle.

The MoU, which remains a topic of national debate, is believed to focus on bipartisan cooperation in governance, electoral reforms, and national unity.

However, some of Raila’s staunch supporters have criticized it, arguing that it undermines his long-standing role as the face of opposition politics.

Raila assured Kenyans that his engagement with Ruto does not mean he has abandoned the fight for democracy and accountability. Instead, he emphasized that collaboration is necessary for the country’s stability and progress.

“I have always fought for the interests of the people, and I will continue doing so. If dialogue can bring solutions, then we must embrace it,” he added.

Despite his reassurances, political analysts believe the MoU could reshape Kenya’s political landscape, with potential implications for the 2027 elections. While some see it as a pragmatic move, others argue that it signals Raila softening his stance against the Kenya Kwanza administration.

As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen how this new development will impact Raila’s political influence and the opposition’s future direction.
