Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has said that this is the first time in Kenyan history they might succeed sending all the three arms of the government home and start afresh. According to the LSK President, this will mark a new beginning with new leadership.
“For once, we might just succeed in sending all the heads of the three arms of the government home and starting afresh. The head of the executive is gone, the head of Parliament went, the head of Judiciary is going. Let Kenya begin a new with clean leadership,” Havi stated.
Nelson Havi together with Ahmednasir Abdullahi and Rarieda Member of Parliament Raphael Tuju filed a petition for the removal of Chief Justice Martha Koome and the Supreme Court Judges. They accused judges of incompetencies and misconduct.
However, the Supreme Court Judges moved to court seeking the suspension of JSC proceedings on the ground that the Commission lacked the constitutional mandate to handle the claims against them.
