Kalonzo Given 2 Tough Options, Told What’ll be Done to Him if he Refuses to Join Ruto For 2027

Member of Parliament Nimrod Mbai of Kitui East has urged Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to reconsider his 2027 presidential ambitions. Kalonzo has been strongly persuaded by Mbai to set aside his goals and back President William Ruto’s reelection campaign.

In an honest assessment, Mbai cautioned Kalonzo against underestimating the strong resistance from people like Raila Odinga and William Ruto. “You can’t compete with Raila or Ruto; just assess your circumstances.

You can only join one of them because you’ve been there four times; you can’t join Raila’s side. He said, “Just join William Ruto for posterity,” at Nzuoni, Kitui, according to The Star on Tuesday.

He stated Kalonzo has no chance of winning the presidency because of his past failures and the challenging political climate. He asserts that Kalonzo’s only options at this time are to either back Ruto and survive or to run for president and lose to the Head of State. He asserted that if Kalonzo is committed to running, he will not even have the support of Kitui, his home county, which the MP had pledged to reject.

Mbai, an experienced UDA MP in his second term, said he was committed to bolstering Ruto’s base of support in Kitui in order to undermine Kalonzo’s. He has ambitious plans and intends to outperform Ruto in 2022 by receiving more than half of the county votes in 2027.

Mbai’s plea went beyond his personal political goals, warning that the Kamba community might encounter resistance if they did not back Ruto. Mbai presented himself as the spokesperson for the UDA chairperson of Kitui County in the upcoming party elections. He asserted that cooperation with Ruto is essential to Kalonzo’s rise to power and urged the people of Kamba to back the ruling party for the sake of progress.
