Nairobi: CCTV footage has surfaced showing a Caucasian man assaulting a female Chicken Inn staff member in Kilimani.
The footage shows the man approaching the counter where the Kenyan employee was standing. Appearing agitated, he tossed some cash over the counter before grabbing the staffer by the collar, nearly lifting her.
At that moment, two male Kenyan staff members at the counter intervened, restraining the man from further assaulting their female colleague.

The female staff member seized the opportunity to defend herself. A security officer then approached and attempted to remove the man from the premises to no avail.
The agitated man briefly calmed down after two women spoke to him. However, he later returned to the counter and began conversing with the female staff member, who was alone at the time.
Noticing the foreigner at the counter again, a male staff member joined his colleague. He engaged the man briefly before the latter left the premises.
As of the time of publication, the reason behind the mzungu man’s anger toward the female staff member remained unclear.

Kenyans voiced their outrage on social media over the white man’s actions toward the female staff member, with many condemning the incident.

In a separate incident, a white man who has lived in Kenya for an extended period confronted Kenyans who spoke ill of him in Kiswahili, assuming he did not understand the language.
In a 2024 interview with a local media outlet, the white man stated that he speaks and fully understands Kenya’s national language, having lived in the country for several years.
The man said that when Kenyans speak ill of him, he sometimes confronts them. He noted that he responds in Kiwahili to demonstrate his understanding of the language, often leaving them embarrassed.
He recounted an incident where two Kenyan men questioned his gender in Kiswahili, assuming he couldn’t understand. In response, he addressed them directly, prompting them to flee.
