Senator Tom Ojienda has sparked political debate with his bold prediction that opposition leader Raila Odinga will return to support President William Ruto in the 2027 elections. Speaking on Citizen TV DayBreak, Ojienda stated that Ruto’s re-election would be unstoppable if he successfully unites the Western and Nyanza regions, traditionally strongholds of Raila’s ODM party.

According to Ojienda, no potential candidate, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, or former Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa, would stand a chance against Ruto under such circumstances.

Ojienda’s remarks suggest a potential shift in Kenya’s political landscape, with the possibility of Raila aligning with Ruto to consolidate support. This speculation comes amid ongoing discussions about coalition-building ahead of the 2027 polls.

While Ojienda’s comments have stirred controversy, they highlight the strategic importance of regional alliances in Kenyan politics. As the debate continues, all eyes remain on Raila’s next move and its potential impact on the country’s political future.
