A grieving family in Kawangware is appealing for financial assistance to give their 20-year-old son a proper send-off after his untimely passing.

The young man, who was set to join Form Three this year, passed away on January 19 while receiving treatment at Mbagathi Hospital.
The boy, whose dreams and aspirations were tragically cut short, left behind not only grieving parents but a substantial hospital bill that has strained the family’s already limited resources.

As the family tries to cope with their loss, an additional burden weighs heavily on their shoulders: the escalating costs at the morgue where their son’s body is being held.
His parents, both unemployed, are struggling to clear the outstanding medical bill from his 14-day hospitalisation, as well as the accumulating morgue fees.
The daily accumulation of charges has added to the financial strain, and the family now faces a daunting budget of KSh 160,510 to give their son a dignified send-off.
Despite their best efforts, including organizing contributions, they have only managed to raise KSh 34,000—far short of the required amount.
As each day passes and the youngster’s body remains in the morgue, the bills continue to increase, adding to their distress.
“We are pleading with well-wishers to support us in this difficult time so we can lay him to rest,” the boy’s mother, Linda Kahi, told TUKO.co.ke.
Anyone willing to assist the family can reach the family through 0723176120, a number registered as Linda Kahi Amagove.
Your support will help ease their burden and ensure their son receives a dignified farewell.
Mbagathi Hospital staff charged with extortion
In an unrelated story, a trio of Mbagathi Hospital staffers are facing charges in court over a patient’s body that had been detained over a medical bill.
Elizabeth Aoga, Jackline Njagi, and Jackline Owino are accused of demanding KSh 30,000 from Ann Mbugua to release the latter’s father’s body.
They face charges of conspiracy, providing false information, and extortion.
The trio was presented before Magistrate BenMark Ekhubi, where they pleaded not guilty to all charges and granted freedom on a cash bail of KSh 100,000 each.
