Kenyans have been reacting to male senators discussing nominated senator Crystal Asige’s relationship status after her public announcement.
The singer-turned-politician took to her X page to share a photo of herself and captioned it saying she was very single.
This saw men throng the post to ask her about her ideal person and if she was open to dating someone with no financial capabilities like her.
What male senators think of Crystal Asige’s status
However, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, while on the floor of parliament, wondered if the announcement was legit as he only saw it trending on X.

He said:
“At the onset, I want to commend Senator Asige, but on a lighter note, I saw team mafisi saying that she is single on social media over the weekend. I said it on a lighter note.”
However, Asige raised a point of order and asked the Speaker to let Cherargei substantiate the matter as it was a social media post.
However, her plea was met with hilarious opposition from ODM senators, including Homa Bay Senator Moses Otieno Kajwang.
“Is Senator Asige in order to close the market so soon? Cherargei does not have to prove anything; in fact, that ambiguity should be strategic. It will bring about attention and it will give some of us hope. It may not be very appropriate for Cherargei to substantiate so that we remain hopeful so that we could fill that void in the life of Asige,” said Kajwang.
However, Cherargei further wished Asige well and encouraged Kajwang to continue his pursuit.

She expressed her excitement on social media, terming her recognition wild and thanking supporters for their role.
