Businessman and politician Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, popularly known as Buzeki, has voiced disappointment in Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro for not taking a public stand on the recent impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Ndindi Nyoro is a high ranking member of parliament in the Kenya Kwanza coalition as he heads the budget committee in the national assembly and had been touted as a possible replacement of Gachagua following his impeachment.
On the impeachment of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua he is yet to make an explicit statement regarding Gachagua’s ouster, a move that some view as a missed opportunity for decisive leadership.
In a statement on X, Buzeki noted the MP refused to openly take a stand on the impeachment motion which shows he shortcoming on his part of making concrete decisions.
“Ndindi did not openly express a definitive stance regarding Riggy G’s impeachment. This may be viewed as a potential shortcoming in leadership, as affective leadership often requires making courageous decisions. It is essential for leaders to take a clear position when faced with challenging circumstances,” Buzeki said.
Buzeki further emphasized that taking a clear stance in turbulent political times is crucial, adding that silence or indecisiveness could undermine a leader’s credibility.
He suggested that Nyoro’s silence might be interpreted by the public as reluctance to make difficult decisions, particularly when dealing with complex issues like Gachagua’s impeachment.
Ndindi Nyoro has often been vocal about various national issues, has previously shown strong allegiance to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and President William Ruto’s administration. His silence on Gachagua’s impeachment has therefore raised questions about his stance, especially among his supporters.
Kithure Kindiki was on Friday sworn in officially as the Deputy President.
