Situation As DIG Eliud Langat Gives Update On Investigation Into Murder Cases

Abductions leading to murder cases have been rampant in the recent days something that has pushed relevant bodies to undertake intense investigations to arrest the worrying trend. In that case, Deputy Inspector General, Kenya Police Service, Mr. Eliud Lagat has stated that NPS recognizes the importance of swiftly resolving murder cases against women, to ensure justice for victims and their families.Â
DIG Lagat who was addressing members of the Press on October 30, 2024 at NPS Headquarters, indicated that murders against women has increased, with 97 cases having been reported in the last three months, and as investigations continue, several suspects have been arrested and arraigned in court.
At the same time, PS State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, Ms. Anne Wang’ombe expressed the Government’s commitment to strengthening prevention mechanisms against these murder cases. Also present was DIG APS Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, and Director DCI Mr. Mohamed Amin.
