The Kirinyaga woman representative’s statement followed a lack of activity or announcements regarding the swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as deputy president.

What did Kuria say about new DP swearing in?

Kuria had previously stated that the swearing-in ceremony would proceed despite court orders following Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment.

In a post on his X social media platform, Kuria appeared to be with government officials on-site, preparing the venue for Kindiki’s installation.

The official announced that the swearing-in would take place at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.

What did Njeri Maina tell Kuria?

After Uhuru Gardens seemed surprisingly quiet throughout the day amid the highly anticipated ceremony, Maina began to taunt Kuria.

The woman representative took to her Facebook account to ask Kuria why Kindiki’s installation ceremony had not yet occurred.

She comically asked Kindiki if the process of swearing in the current Interior Cabinet Secretary was still underway.

“Has the swearing in happened as Moses Kuria said? Ama it’s in the process?,” Maina asked Kuria.
