Fresh Headache Awaits President Ruto as Western Top Leaders Start Demanding 30% Share, Details

A Member of Parliament (MP) allied with National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has confirmed that the Ford Kenya Party is actively pursuing the 30 percent share of government promised by President William Ruto during the 2022 general elections.

Tongaren MP and Ford-Kenya Secretary General, John Chikati, stated that the party has been advocating for its promised share within the Kenya Kwanza government.

Chikati acknowledged that while Ford Kenya has been assertive in its demands, they remain mindful of the economic difficulties the country is currently facing.

“We have been pushing for what was agreed upon, the 30 percent share, while keeping in mind the critical resource shortage and financial challenges the country is facing,” he said.

Although Chikati could not confirm the exact percentage of positions the party has secured, he mentioned that numerous appointments have been made to key state parastatals and agencies. “As we push forward, we are cautious not to harm the country.

Although I haven’t calculated it precisely, many individuals recommended by Ford Kenya have been appointed to key positions,” Chikati added.

He further listed some of these appointments, including Anthony Mwaura as Chair of the Kenya Revenue Authority Board of Directors, Purity Muhindi as the Kenyan Ambassador to Senegal, and Ford Kenya Treasurer Nasri Sahal as Chairperson of the Northern Water Works Development Agency.

These appointments cover various regions such as Kakamega, Bungoma, Northeastern, and the Coast.
