The country is a week shy from marking the first year since Kenyans witnessed a tumultuous election where two political titans namely Raila Odinga and William Ruto locked horns to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta. Of the people who made the exercise successful is the former IEBC commissioner Abdi Yakub Guliye.
In a recent exclusive media interview with TV47, Prof Guliye recounted the major events that transpired during the tallying period. Whereas the former’s record in IEBC is impressive, he equally has a similar crown in his least known academia world. 
Speaking on Monday, July 31, the former commissioner disclosed that before his IEBC stunt, he worked as animal biology. Guliye studied Bachelors of Science in Animal Production at Egerton University after which he progressed to Aberdeen University for his PhD in Animal nutrition.
Prof Guliye has taught undergraduate students at Egerton as lecturer for years end and he has been involved in reviewal of curriculum of BSC in Animal Science at the university, he has also been involved in the studies of rumen microbial fermentation and pastoral production systems.
Commissioner Yakub rose to public limelight after he remained loyal to Chebukati and distanced self from the Cherera 4. Days after Kenyans casted their votes, cracks emerged in IEBC over the poll results with one side alleging the former government tried to influence the poll outcome.
