There was panic and scare along Langata Road after suspected bomb reports forcing the government to act quickly and deploy robots and experts to examine the scene.

According to the details, a bag was abandoned along Langata Road, Nairobi prompting the deployment of experts and robots to examine the bag. The incident is reported to have caused a traffic delay along the busy road for a while.

However, on examination, it was found that the bag only papers and that there was no cause of alarm.

“There was nothing inside and we think it was intentionally abandoned there for a purpose known to those behind it,” Nairobi Police Boss Adamson Bungei said after the bag was secured.

Adamson Bungei called on the public to remain vigilant as security agencies continue to ensure that the country is safe.

This comes at a time when the north eastern parts of Kenya and some areas in the coast have registered increased number of terrorism attacks targeting both the security officers and the civilians.

Just recently in Lamu, suspected Al Shabaab terrorists beheaded 5 people and torched houses in an incident that sent panic in the region.
