Unusual activity at the Kenya Airforce Laikipia Air Base as what has happened today has been revealed as the highly trained soldiers dropped their guns, uniforms for a rare event.
It was a rare occurrence as the Laikipia Airbase was not a beehive of military activities but a cultural base with officers at the base treated to a first of a kind cultural day under the theme, Officers Comradery through our cultures and pride.
The event was graced by Base Commander Wajir Air Base (WAB) Brigadier Stephen Sane.
According to the information shared, the day whose aim was to showcase and celebrate cultural diversity in order to enhance bonding, saw the officers showcase their richly diverse cultures through donning of traditional attires, food, songs and dances. Â
Speaking during the event, Brigadier Sane expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who was involved in the planning of the event.
“Culture is one of the critical things that we should emphasise on. It teaches us a lot and gives us value in everything we do as human beings. It reminds us of a history we can always learn from,” he said.Â
On his part, Base Commander LAB Brigadier Mohamud Farah expounded on the importance of understanding our diverse and multifaceted cultures.
Also present during the event were ; Principal Defence Forces Technical College Brigadier Mohammed Ali, Senior Officers, Officers and their families.
