A few days ago there was trending news about a young girl from Nakuru county who died in class out of teachers’ responsibilities and the carelessness of the school nurse who failed to treat her the way she was supposed to be treated.
This form one girl called Whitney Njoki was said to be a jovial girl and her classmates had nicknamed her the smiling machine. She died two weeks ago and now she has been buried but her parents are seeking her Justice.
When Njoki started feeling sick to the point she could not stand nor walk on her feet, her close friends carried her to the school hospital, instead of being treated by the school nurse, she was ordered to go back to class and sit for her mid-term chemistry paper.Â
The teacher who was supervising this exam also forced Njoki to finish the exawithhe claiming that she was pretending to be sick and that is how she died while in class. The nurse’s negligence coated the life of the form one student who was very innocent.
