End Of The Road For Ex-Popular News Anchor After Being Denied Top Job By Ruto?

She was once one of the most popular news anchors in the country. In a stellar media career spanning over one decade, Lindah Oguttu enjoyed a huge following.

At the peak of her career, Oguttu earned reputation of being one of the best TV sirens when she worked for KTN.

Before that, she had honed her media skills at Nation Media Group-owned NTV. She would later crossover to Standard Group’s KTN.

After almost a decade at KTN, Oguttu was appointed by former Sports Cabinet Secretary Dr Amina Mohamed to head the FKF transition committee secretariat. That would mark the end of her media career.

With the President William Ruto Government taking over, Oguttu had hoped to be considered for a plum position in the current regime. That is how she ended up applying for the Chief Adminstrative Secretary job.

However, as Dr Ruto unveiled the final list of the 50 nominees on Friday, Oguttu’s name was conspicuously missing having been overlooked by the Head of State.

With her media career over and having missed out on top government job, what next for this seasoned journalist? Is this the end of the road for her?

But as Oguttu missed out on the list, some top politicians in the country had every reason to smile after making the cut. Nairobi politician Milicent Omanga is one of them after being appointed as CAS Interior.

Former Laikipia Women Representative Catherine Waruguru was also appointed as Foreign Affairs CAS and so is former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo who was picked as CAS in the Ministry of Transport.

Gumbo was joined by former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and ex-Kiminini MP Dr Chris Wamalwa.
