Dr Fred Okengo Matiangi was the former Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Security. He before served as the Minister for Education.

Matiangi was born in Borabu Constituency, Nyamira County. He is a Kisii by tribe. He grew up in Nyamira before moving to Nairobi to further his studies.

In the Kenyan Government, he served as the CS for information, Communication and Technology (ICT), CS for Educations and as the CS for Interior Coordination of National Security.
Marriage
Matiangi is a husband to one, and they are blessed with two children.
Other facts about him;
Matiangi was on the limelight while he was the CS for education. He banned caining of students, reduced cheating levels in National Examinations, and also ordered all school buses and vehicles to be painted yellow. He has also received appraisal while serving in the Security Department.
Fred Matiangi is also facing a scandal with DCI to an extend that police raided his Karen home.
