Students Who Attained C Plus In KCSE In Dilemma Over University Funding

Many students who scored C+ and above are currently on a dilemma after the recommendation to stop funding those who scored C+.

The recommendation that has been given says that the funding of the government should stop being mandatory to all students but they should be dependent on merit, level of need, national priorities and affirmative action.

This means that even if one passes the KCSE it will not be guaranteed that one will get University funding.

The source has given a story of a boy who has been identified as Kelvin Wachira who scored C+ in his examination and joined public university. The source has reported that he has been surviving on bursaries for the county government.

Wachira is in a dilemma after the details emerged that the government will stop giving out bursaries.

“Nimesoma kwa shida sana, sasa serikali ikitoa kufund sijui nitaenda wapi,” Wachira says.
