Fire in boarding schools continue to be a menace in the country. However, there are various measures put in place to ensure that the students don’t engage in such things and the buildings are also safe. The latest school to experience the menace is Kangemi secondary school.
For that reason, Westland member of parliament honourable Tim Wanyonyi has paid a visit to the school. He took to social media to speak about it. He said that investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of fire.
“We visited Kangemi High School this morning following a fire outbreak that destroyed a dormitory. Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.
Up to the time of this publication, there were no reports of injuries but property of unknown value had been destroyed. This is just few weeks after learners opened the schools for the new year and new term.
