Embakasi East member of parliament hon Babu Owino has come out to warn the Kenya Kwanza government against increasing the semester fee for universities. In a tweet the MP shared on his page on Monday Babu said that the government should forget about their plan.
He said that if they proceed to increase the semester feel they will provoke his anger and will organize massive demonstrations against the ruling government.
“This Rogue Government must Forget about increasing University Fees.Will soon stop singing and start swinging.” He said.
Babu has always been known to be a fighter for university student rights. The ex-UN president understands all the suffering students are submitted to and will never allow the government to add more burden to them. In the past he has organized demos after comrades failed to get their share of the Helb loan.
The government on Monday announced that there are plans to increase the semester fee from Sh16,000 to Sh52,000. People have however said that this will not happen at all. Follow the page for more news updates daily.
