Super Metro, a well-known bus sacco, is credited for bringing sanity and order to Kenya’s matatu sector. The Sacco is renowned for operating extremely tidy and clean commuters and for having very devoted, well-behaved personnel. Popular routes taken by the buses include Nairobi-Kitengela, Nairobi-Ngong, and Nairobi-Kikuyu.
Super Metro, however, pleasantly surprised Kenyans today by introducing their first electric bus as part of their attempts to work with the nation and the rest of the world to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions from fuel-powered vehicles. The electric bus manufacturer, BasiGo, inaugurated the vehicle this afternoon at the CBD, the primary pickup location for passengers.
Speaking after presenting the electric bus, BasiGo declared that the new Super Metro electric bus would be traveling along the routes connecting the CBD with Kikuyu and Kitengela.
The bus can go 250 kilometers before needing to be recharged, according to BasiGo.
