Chelsea’s form has plummeted in recent weeks, with Graham Potter’s led side managing only 1 victory in their last 8 assignments (D4L3) which also leaves them languishing 10th in the Premeir League table with 31 points, 10 points off Champions League places.
The Blues slump in form has been due to the decline in the performances of these 3 players & they should be sidelined in their upcoming fixtures, so that the club can fight to clinch a UCL Spot.
1. Mason Mount
Chelsea’s player of the year in the 2021/2022 campaign & their academy Graduate Mount has failed to replicate his last season’s form. The England playmaker has been at the Pinnacle of the West Londoners success in recent seasons, but he has been producing shambolic performances in their recent outings. The 23 year old has been wasteful in the middle of the pack, as he has failed to create chances for his forwards which has led to Graham Potter’s side failing to score goals.
2. Kai Havertz
The German international has continued to start as the centre forward for the Blues, despite his poor record infront of goal. Havertz has been failing to capitalize on clear cut chances in the final third which has costed Chelsea dearly. The former Bayer Leverkusen striker has netted only once in his last 6 outings.
3. Marc Cucurella
The Spaniard who arrived at Stamford bridge in a big money move from Brighton last summer, has failed to really make an impact for Chelsea in the left flank. Cucurella has been caught off position most of the time this season, which has given most teams advantage to operate freely in the left wing & most often punish the Blues. The left back has also failed to offer much in attack as his deliveries in the box have been poor.
