Chelsea UCL Team news, Yellow card ‘tight rope’, and transfer titbits

Chelsea will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday. A squad of 23 players has arrived in Germany safely ahead of the game. After recovering from injuries, Denis Zakaria, Wesley Fofana, and Mateo Kovacic made the 23-man shortlist.

Mykhailo Mudryk, one of three January additions to our squad, was directly involved in five goals in six Champions League appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk this season. Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix will also be looking to make their first appearances for the Blues in Europe.

Potter will also have to be cautious with his lineup because several players have yellow card restrictions. Mount, Koulibaly, Mudryk, and Gallagher are all on the verge of suspension for Chelsea’s next UCL game and any additional bookings will result in a one-game suspension.

Transfer titbit

Outside of the pitch, Chelsea are in talks to sign more wonderkids, 15-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Paez, who is regarded as one of the best South American prospects.

Statements from Leeds United

Leeds has confirmed that Michael Skubala will continue to captain the men’s first team for the remainder of the season.

“Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will continue to support Michael, alongside the backroom team that is already in place,” says Fabrizio Romano.
