Judica Kalinga,14 with a placard soliciting for well wishers to come to her rescue after her efforts to get Scholarship from the county government of Kwale to join St. Bridgid’s High school proved futile (photo courtesy).
The efforts of Judica Kalinga aged 14, a resident of Ngathini village in Lungalunga, Kwale County to join high School have however set to unfruitful after being kicked out of the beneficiaries.
Judica passed her last year’s KCPE excellently but her background can’t afford to pay her school fees from the school she is expected to join, which is St Bridgid’s High school,Kiminini in Trans Nzoia County.
Her mother tried to apply for the Elimu bursary which caters for needy students with 350 marks in KCPE but she suffered a setback after the Kwale County communication director Nicky Gitonga stated that they were first of giving priority to Kwale residents and electorates.
A move that the student’s mother termed to be political stating that she voted in Mombasa County and that’s where her voters card reads despite being a Kwale resident, narrating that she has no any other alternative apart from the County Elimu scholarship.

However, the move by the County’s Decision has been slammed by Kenyans, with some stating that, politics should be put aside when it comes to academic matters.
