As the government puts all the mechanisms of fighting hunger that is striking most parts of the country, they have zero rated the importation of maize, rice and other feed staff to encourage businesspeople to import enough food.
What is more challenging to the government however is to strike a balance between consumers and farmers, due to the fact that farmers want to sell produce at high price and makes alot of profit when some consumer only require cheap food due to lack of money.
His excellency the president of the republic of Kenya honourable William Samoei Arap Ruto however disclosed that the poor Kenyans who are suffering are the majority and can’t be ignored at the expenses of selfish farmers who have stored maize is store. He directed miller to sell maize flour at 50Sh per kilos when a 90Kg of maize should be 2500sh.
