Famous Kikuyu Artist Quit Music Due To The Ongoing Challenges In The Music Industry.
If you are a fan of Kikuyu secular songs you might have come across this man called Cekar Junior who is a famous Kikuyu mugithi artist and is also one of the best guitarists in Kenya.
Ceker Junior is one the artists who command a huge number of followers on all his social media platforms his youtube channel which goes by his stage name Cekar Junior official channel.
A few minutes ago Cekar has posted a post on his Facebook page where he announced that he has quit music due to ongoing challenges but he might return soon maybe when things will grow better.
The Kikuyu music industry has been faced with a major change after the upcoming artist have been threatened not to perform other people’s songs or else they will be jailed or fined 40 million.
The recent case is that of Waithaka Wa Jane, Tony Youg, Kajei Salim and Kamwana Wa Jane who have been sued by JB Maina for performing his songs live on stage without his consent. Now, these artists might be charged 40 million each by the court or face a jail term of 4 years.
In Cekar’s message to his fans, he said “To all my fans I as the king of nonsense Cekar Junior want to take a short break in music because of the many challenges which are in this music industry. To all my supporters and fans thank you for being there for me” He wrote
