President William Ruto was very angry after he toured the Galana Kulalu irrigation project and discovered what was going on there when it comes to utilization of the land.
According to a state house staffer who spoke to The Nation, the head of state was very angry after realizing that the 1.2 million acre piece of land was being subdivided for resettling residents, contrary to its original purpose.
After touring the project together with governors Abdulswamad Nassir, Gideon Mung’aro and Johnson Sakaja, president William Ruto was said to have been to upset that he did not even wait to get back to State House (ostensibly the Mombasa State House where he has been since Saturday) to take action.
He is said to have personally taken to social media site Twitter to revoke the plans. As opposed to his usual tweets which are done by his communication team, he did the tweets himself yesterday.
“For the president, the subdivision was confirmation that the project had taken a different turn from what was initially projected. So, he went there and did not even wait to get to State House to tweet about the revocation. He did the tweet himself,” the state house staffer said.
