Former Kabarnet Boys High School Alumni on Saturday and Sunday held successful Alumnus day in the Baringo-based institution.
The old boys of the school dating back to as far as 1970 arrived at Kabarnet High School grounds on Saturday, June 25, to a huge reception from the current students.
The alumni comprising of renowned judges, engineers and scholars in the country held a long day engagement with the current students as they reflect on the good olden days at the institution which is one of the powerful academic giants from Baringo county.
And in a sweet reunion, the Alumni spend the night at the school as they reminisce and celebrate their time while learning at the institution. They reportedly managed to raise over Ksh 600k to help pay fees for needy students in the school after briefings from the school principal Mr Ndirangu.
Addressing the press on Sunday after the Sunday service at the school, the alumni said it is their responsibility to support such students as they deserve a better future like for them who have made it in life having gone through Kabarnet High School.
A number of Alumni could resist the urge to get back into their golden uniforms as they took photos with the current students. This is the second edition of such celebrations in Kabarnet Boys.
Kabarnet High school is one of the best schools in Baringo county and it recently came second after Baringo High School with a mean score of 8.1 in 2021 KCSE results.
Among those who graced the occasion is the father to renown gospel singer Emmy Kosgei, Mr Jackson Kosgei, who is one of the Alumni.
