Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui has come under fire from netizens after he mocked Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua on 2022 election campaign trip set to be made by the latter in the county on Tuesday.
This follows after the Kenyans on social media castigated him for scoffing at Gachagua in a way that that could be considered inciteful to the residents of the county ahead of the August this year’s polls.
In his official Facebook page, Kinyanjui alleged that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance runningmate was poised to pay a visit to Nakuru on Tuesday. He claimed that the MP was Godsend to them when deputy president Dr William Ruto picked him as his runningmate because, according to the Azimio La Umoja team, Gachagua would bring about disquiet and disunity in their rival camp.
The county boss indicated that the residents were eagerly waiting for the Kenya Kwanza deputy president-designate to arrive so that they present to him issues touching on his past failures and character of Kenya Kwanza camp.
One issue that Gachagua was set to address and it emanated from Molo residents was the past ethnic clashes in the area when he was allegedly its District Officer. He wanted the lawmaker to apologize and own up for reportedly being responsible.
The next matter which the governor demanded that the legislator address included the topic on “Good governance and chapter six of the Kenya’s constitution”. This was an indirect mockery on him after he was accused of engaging in graft in the recent past.
However, his chides did not auger well with netizens who rushed to the comments’ section to lash out at him. Most wondered why the county boss had decided to stoop low by making such juvenile jokes.
This comes as Gachagua visits Molo constituency in Nakuru to drum up support for DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential candidature on Tuesday.
