Kenya Kwanza Wins Big in Bungoma as Latest Polls Reveal Interesting Results in the County

Day after day, Kenyans keep talking on the August 9 general election. There is only less than two months to the de-day. The politics across the country are taking new turns as they Campaign to seek support for their candidatures across the electoral posts in the country.



Bungoma county has been different from the other counties in the Western region as it is the only county that Raila Odinga has failed to get support from. Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Samoei Ruto takes the lead in the county despite trailing behind Raila in Western Kenya region.

Mizani Africa conducted a poll survey in the county of Bungoma to determine the most preferred candidate in the Gubernatorial, senatorial and women representative races. The poll survey was conducted between the 7th and 14th of June.

In the gubernatorial race, former speaker of the Senate, Ken Lusaka leads ahead of the incumbent governor Wycliffe Wangamati. Ken leads at 57.9%and Wangamati comes second at 35.0% and Zachariah Baraza at 5.4%.

In the women representative, the incumbent Catherine Nanjala would have a commanding lead at 44.4% followed by Reginalda Wanyonyi at 25.0% and Nancy Charity at 13.0%.

In the senatorial race, the incumbent Senator and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula would have retained his seat leading at far distance at 75.3% followed by Charles Kibabani at 14.4% and Herman Kasili at 9.2%.
