‘Aki Uhuru Siamtoe Tu’ See A Kenyan Sentenced To Death And Has Degree In Medicine And Surgery

Clement Munyao, a death row inmate at Kamiti maximum prison found a new calling that inspires him to have hope and belief in future. The convict neurosurgeon is serving a life sentence after he was found guilty of murder. Munyao is linked to death of Moses Gituma who was a senior official at Central Bank of Kenya. He was in possession of a mobile phone stolen from the murder scene.

At Kamiti Munyao acted as a consultant and paralegal and refuted reports that he was a quack doctor. To prove his assertions the inmate showcased his certificates and detailed curriculum vitae. Following his academic qualifications, Munyao is an intelligent Kenyan, he graduated in the University of Nairobi in 1980 with bachelor in Medicine and Surgery. He then pursued Masters in the same university where he graduated with Masters in Human Medicine and Pathology and Masters in Forensic Medicine in Scotland in 1991.

In 2009, Munyao was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment and his appeal four years later bore no fruits as he was sentenced to hang. According to Munyao, the phone he was caught with, he bought from a shamba boy in Gigiri Nairobi but could not reveal his identity.
