“We Went to School for Sol Generation,” Bien Hits Out at ‘Haters’ such as Jalango

Sauti Sol are proving their naysayers wrong after they were long accused of not using their success in the industry to mentor young upcoming talents.

One of the band’s biggest critic was, of course, radio personality Jalang’o who earlier this year said Sauti Sol, especially Savara and Bien, are a letdown to the industry.

Since then Sauti Sol have launched their record label Sol Generation and introduced the new talents under their wing: BenSoul, Crystal Asige, Nviiri and Kaskazini.

And Sauti Sol member Bien has once again called out Jalang’o saying since they started their record label, he has never posted to appreciate their work.

“We knew what we wanted as a group and have our financial projections. We even went to school for this so we get the best direction on how to run a record label. To our haters, time will tell, as we are still coming up with bigger projects,” Bien said.

Asked if Sol Generation has started generating revenue, Bien said, “We expected that we would start getting gigs after six months, which is not the case because BenSoul has been getting gigs from all over after we signed him under Sol Generation, which we are happy about.”

He added, “The next project we are releasing with him will be bigger and better than ‘Lucy’ and ‘Favourite Song’.”

The towering guitarist also disclosed that the project is funded by their savings over the years. “It has been a project from our savings all the years and it is something that requires a lot of time because we have to analyse every artiste before signing them. I have gone for their shows for over one year and even watched them perform live,” he said.
