At this point, you’ve probably heard about the mess that is Don’t Worry Darling, even if you weren’t intentionally following along.
But cinematographer Matthew Libatique has denied the rumors, calling them “completely untrue.”
“This was probably the most harmonious set I’ve ever been on,” Matthew said on the Behind the Screen podcast with the Hollywood Reporter. “Olivia built a team that believed in her and she believed in each and everybody on the set… When I hear that there are rumors of acrimony on the set, I reject it. It wasn’t apparent at all.”
That being said, if something negative did happen, it had to have been when he was no longer around. “Whatever happened, it happened way after I left and started doing something else,” Matthew added. “I was never witness to anything and I didn’t feel anything. You know, you get a feeling that there might be something going on, and I didn’t feel anything.”
He maintained that it was an “extremely focused” set, crediting Olivia for putting a great cast together. “She was not only able to put together a people of like-mind behind the camera but in front of the camera as well, and I really enjoyed it.”
