The action-thriller, directed by Cloverfield‘s Matt Reeves, promises a dark take on Batman’s origin story, which everyone is really excited to see.
Robert has already watched The Batman, and, as the actor explained during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he was pretty nervous ahead of the screening. But the anxiety dissipated after witnessing his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse’s reaction to the movie.

“I was absolutely terrified. I haven’t been this scared to a release of a movie in such a long time,” he explained. “I’ve kind of gotten into this habit where…I need to be in the perfect balance of serotonin to watch my own stuff.”

“I need to workout for two hours before, and I need to have an enormous amount of sugar and caffeine. So whenever I’m watching, I’m like, ‘Yes!'”
Whether Robert carried out any part of this pump-up routine prior to the viewing with Suki isn’t clear, but it sounds like the regimen wasn’t so necessary anyway. “It was really her reaction that kind of changed the entire thing because I’m pretty sure she’s not normally into watching superhero movies,” he told Jimmy Kimmel.

“And just seeing that it was capturing her attention the entire time,” he continued. “And then she just held my hand and touched it right there [to her cheek] and I could feel a little tear.”
The Batman hits theaters March 4. After Suki’s stellar review, will you be watching?
