WATCH: ‘No need to be a gold medalist to wear it’ – Olympic athletes receive branded condoms in toiletry bags

Since arriving at the Olympic Village, athletes have been taking to TikTok to share what they’ve scored in their goodie bags from the 2024 Olympics organisers.

From your usual water bottles to extravagant cellphones, it seems they really thought about everything.

Even down to the condoms placed in the athletes’ toiletry bags.

Canadian sailor Sarah Douglas took to the video app to show off what the supplied condoms look like.

In the video captioned: “You know what they say about the village” you see the blue and pink Olympics-branded condom packaging printed with messages such as “On the field of love, play fair- ask for consent” and “No need to be a gold medalist to wear it.”

The condom package design also includes the Paris Games’ mascot which is shaped as a soft red Phrygian cap that is a symbol of freedom.

Organisers are providing 300,000 condoms to more than 14,000 athletes.

Other messages on the 2024 condoms include: “Score a win: Yes to consent, no to STDs,” “Don’t share more than victory: Protect yourself against STDs” and “Fair play, safe play: Consent first.”

In an attempt to deter the athletes from sexual activity, they have re-introduced the cardboard “anti-sex” beds in Olympic Village bedrooms.

South African professional skateboarder Brandon Valjalo, shared a TikTok showing the beds they will be sleeping in.

In the video you see him lifting the bed’s mattress to expose the cardboard base below.

The uncomfortable-looking beds were introduced at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
