TikTok star Nara Smith accused of stealing Onezwa Mbola’s recipes, again

Just when people were convinced that TikTok star Nara Smith has stopped stealing content from smaller content creators, she was at it again, stealing Onezwa Mbola’s recipes on the same platform.

Nara posted a video on Monday, making rice noodles with ingredients that were the same as those used by Onezwa Mbola, a TikTok star from the Eastern Cape, who had posted just two days prior on the Saturday.

Onezwa Mbola, like Nara, is a Tik Tok content creator who posts food recipes from ingredients she has grown, raised or foraged. She has amassed over 600,000 followers on TikTok.

Nara Smith on the other hand has over 8 million followers, but she wasted no time in making the same video as Onezwa as she posted a video making rice noodles.

Some on social media went at great lengths to show how the American TikTok model was copying Onezwa. You can view the video below.

People on social media were not happy with that stating that Nara is undeniably copying Onezwa and she is bullying Onezwa at this point.

Social media users took to X to express their thoughts on the recent videos of the two creators and people are siding with Onezwa on this one because it is quite clear that Nara is indeed a copycat.

X user Yolanda Dyantyi commented: “Nara is actually so pathetic.. I feel she’s consciously choosing to bully Onezwa at this point because she believes she can get away with it”

Another X user, Luna M, said: “There is no way yall can see Nara’s latest video and deny that Nara is absolutely copying her…”

And another X user commented, “Nara Smith needs to apologise to Onezwa. And credit her work. This coloniser behaviour is despicable”.

Nara Smith issued a statement in June threatening to pursue legal action against Onezwa Mbola for defamation of character.
