And you probably know that Kim and her family have faced increasing scrutiny for their private jet usage as climate change worsens. At one point, people were calling Kylie Jenner — whose private jet is sometimes used for 17-minute flights — a “full-time climate criminal.”
Kim recently gave a wide-ranging interview to Interview while being the mag’s latest cover star — and although she didn’t address the private jet controversy directly, she did talk about her own perspective on climate change.
Kim stated that she “believes” in climate change, and that “anything can help” stave off its harmful effects to our planet — but, also, it honestly doesn’t sound like she really cares that much.
“I also believe in being realistic,” she continued. “And I think sometimes there’s so much to worry about on this planet, and it can be really scary to live your life with anxiety.” OK…
“I have super climate change-involved friends, and I love learning from them. I do what I can, but you have to pick and choose what really works for you in your life.”
And that’s all she had to say, after being asked about what is probably the greatest threat to life on this planet as we know it. Gotta say, it sounds like she really doesn’t care that much. Very frustrating!
OK, let’s try for some optimism here. Maybe one of Kim’s “super climate change-involved friends” can help convince her that, as a super-rich person, there are basic things — like not using private jets so much — she can do to combat climate change, without “living your life with anxiety.”
