Kanye West Reacts To Yeezy Gap Packaging Backlash

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Kanye West, it’s that he doesn’t really apologize for anything — no matter how much backlash he’s facing.

Whether he’s being criticized for his attacks on Pete Davidson or his many album delays, it’s rare that you ever hear him say sorry for something he did or said.

So of course, he’s not about to apologize for the criticism he got for selling his new Yeezy Gap collection out of those bags.

If you missed it, images recently went viral online showing that the collection was being sold in what appeared to be large trash bags instead of on hangers. Meaning, that you’ll have to dig through everything in order to find your size. Many thought it was super inconvenient and also insensitive to the homeless and less fortunate.

I went to The Gap today to see the new Yeezy line.

Kanye is making you dig for the drip.

As the backlash rolled in, Kanye — who now goes by “ye” — spoke to Fox News to defend the presentation.

“I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas,” he said. “That’s exactly what the media tries to do. Make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”

He shared that his goal was to “change clothing” and bring the “best design to the people” to create an easier shopping experience, explaining that the packaging does this by basically allowing shoppers to grab what they want and go.

“This is not a joke. This is not a game. This is not just some celebrity collaboration,” he added. “This is my life.”

You can hear everything he had to say here.
