Early this year, Memphis Smith and Moknii Hamza broke up.
Despite being one of the most put-together couples on the Tell All, their split was anything but amicable.
To hear him and his family tell it, Hamza has been apart from his daughter.
It appears that the ugliness in this split is only beginning. How bad will this custody battle get?
No couple at the Before The 90 Days Tell All was more (physically) together than Memphis and Hamza.
They had to leave early — which later turned out to be the result of a conflict between Memphis and a producer.
But it’s the couple’s own conflict and unexplained breakup that currently have our attention.
Memphis and Hamza have been relatively tight-lipped about it all.
Some of that may be on the advice of their respective attorneys. They could sabotage their own cases.
90 Day Fiance cast members are also subject to NDAs, some of which can last for many months after they film.
However, fans have gotten little glimpses into this conflict.
For example, in June, Hamza remarked that it was his first Father’s Day.
He added that he was unable to spend it with his infant daughter. Details on that sad situation are unclear.
Hamza’s sister, Rawia, is a familiar face to Before The 90 Days viewers.
She has also posted to social media to share insights into unconfirmed issues amidst Hamza and Memphis’ split.
On Monday, August 15, she seemingly accused Memphis of defying a court order related to custody.
“I want to know something, is it normal in America when someone ignores a judge’s ruling?” Rawia asked.
She noted that “because in Tunisia this exposes us to penalties.”
Just for the record, ignoring a court order can result in being held in contempt of court. Fines, new rulings, and even imprisonment can follow.
“My brother suffers a lot and did not give up on seeing his daughter,” Rawia wrote.
“Although the judge allowed him to visit,” she continued, “she prevent him.,”
“And,” Rawia accused, “does not send us a picture or video of her.”
“We have suffered a lot in our childhood,” Rawia lamented.
Remember, their mother faced great stigma after her own divorce. The children lost their father in the process.
“And,” she continued, “my brother cannot bear the separation of her daughter anymore.”
Memphis was already a mother of two before she met Hamza.
She has a good relationship with her ex. They are friends as well as co-parents.
That is not a common situation in Hamza’s personal life experience or in his culture.
Yes, this led to some serious conflict. Some took place in Tunisia, as we all saw on Season 5.
However, clearly there was more to it that followed them after they made their move to Michigan.
It is unclear if the final nail in the coffin of their young marriage was Memphis’ bond with her ex and Hamza’s jealousy over it.
Sure, it’s possible. But it’s also possible and even likely that there were other factors.
While we do not yet know if we will ever get to see more of Memphis and Hamza’s journey (we know that they filmed in the US), perhaps one day we will know more.
For now, Memphis and Hamza are both unable to tell the world the full story. They’re keeping us guessing.
