Including Jordan Peele setting up THAT scene in Nope.
Hi again. It’s me, Allie, BuzzFeed’s movie editor and in-house pop culture gremlin. ICYMI, I recently revealed one of my favorite hobbies to y’all: sneaking peeks at some cool behind-the-scenes photos when I’m 100% supposed to be looking for movie stills to include in any of my thousand and one movie posts.
So, since I have so many favorites I’ve stumbled across over the years, I decided to make a part two! A sequel! Another excuse for me to roundup my faves to share with all of you! And you’re reading it! It’s this post! I can’t stop using exclamation points! Help!
Ready? I hope so! Let’s go:
1.
Here we see Daniel Kaluuya and director Jordan Peele chilling on the set of Nope (2022), as if nothing terrifying is about to happen:
2.
And speaking of “terrifying,” here is Jordan again, directing THAT nightmare-inducing scene in Nope (2022):
3.
This stop motion animator on the set of Corpse Bride (2005) looks like an actual giant:
4.
Meanwhile, Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) doesn’t look so giant while chatting with director Alfonso Cuarón behind-the-scenes of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004):
5.
Director Ryan Coogler makes sure that Chadwick Boseman is throne room ready on the set of Black Panther (2018):
6.

9.
Here’s director Stephen Sommers setting up a scene in the greatest action/adventure film every made*, The Mummy (1999), looking very out of place in modern clothes:
10.
And director Peter Jackson also looks like a time-traveling-multiverse-jumper while he goes over a scene with Viggo Mortensen on the set of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003):
11.
Elvis has most certainly not left the building in this pic, and director Baz Luhrmann has made sure of that:
12.
Director Taika Watiti takes a break from Korg-in’ it up so he and the God of Thunder from down under himself can watch back a scene:
13.
And the iconic Frankenstein monster gets a new coat of paint courtesy of makeup artist Jack Pierce behind-the-scenes of House of Dracula (1945):
14.
Turns out that intimate moment between the Joker and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad (2016) wasn’t quite so intimate on set:
15.
And, speaking of, that incredible interrogation scene in The Dark Knight (2008) may have only shown the Joker and Batman, but there were plenty of other people in the room:
16.
Break time! At least, that’s what it looks like here as director Rob Reiner hangs out with Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan while filming When Harry Met Sally… (1989):
17.
Director Barry Sonnenfeld prepares to shoot a blue screen shot with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones on the set of a lil’ indie film called Men in Black (1997) — DON’T PUSH THE BUTTON:
18.
And Yahya Abdul-Mateen II takes some notes from director Nia DaCosta on the set of Candyman (2021) — I just hope they only said “Candyman” once…hold on, I’ve said “Candyman” twice now…wait, oh no:
19.
And here we have a little uncanny valley moment courtesy of the doubles for Harry, Ron, and Hermione behind-the-scenes of Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix (2007):

23.
Director Tim Burton has a casual chat with horror movie king, Vincent Price, before filming a scene for Edward Scissorhands (1990):
24.
Park So-dam and Jung Hyeon-jun listen intently as director Bong Joon-ho explains a shot in Parasite (2019):
25.
And John David Washington takes notes from a very differently dressed director Spike Lee on set of BlacKkKlansman (2018):
26.
Chris Pratt takes a leap across some gentlemen (and a blue screen, of course) behind-the-scenes of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014):
27.
Director Mary Harron and Christian Bale chat (I can only assume about business cards) on the set of American Psycho (2000):
28.
Michelle Yeoh and Henry Golding watch as director Jon M. Chu plans an important mother/son scene in Crazy Rich Asians (2018):
29.
Kirsten Dunst looks time period appropriate next to a very not time appropriate camera in Marie Antoinette (2006):
30.
Noah Centineo and Lana Condor chat behind-the-camera before a take in the diner for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018):
31.
Director Joe Wright preps Keira Knightley for a scene in Atonement (2007):
32.
Brad Pitt poses dramatically on the set of Inglourious Basterds (2009):
33.
Let’s finish this post off with some ~Disney magic~, shall we? Here we have directors John Musker and Ron Clements coaching Jodi Benson — who you’ll know better as Ariel:
34.
And in this one, we see music legends Elton John and Tim Rice taking a quick break from recording songs for a little movie called The Lion King (1994):
35.
And last but certainly not least, we have animator Mark Henn getting down to business and working on his sketches of Mulan (1998):
