On The Family Chantel, a formal separation is looming. The writing is on the wall.
In real time, Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno’s ugly divorce began months ago.
Fans have wondered about the show’s future. Will they even film together?
Not any time soon. In fact, Chantel and Pedro have now both received restraining orders.

In Touch Weekly reports that Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno are both under restraining orders.
The court has ordered the exes to stay away from each other’s respective homes and workplaces.
We would crack a joke about Chantel’s visit to Pedro and his coworkers earlier this year. But this goes further.

The restraining orders prevent both Chantel and Pedro from contacting each other in any way.
No calls. Also no emails. And certainly no in person confrontations.
That means no filming together, either, for the duration of the current court order.

Pedro must stay away from the marital residence.
This is the house, as we have seen on the show, where he and Chantel moved just months before they split.
Meanwhile, Chantel has agreed to pay $7,500 in attorney fees for Pedro.

As we previously reported, Chantel and Pedro are already under court orders on other matters.
Neither of them are permitted to “move money” from any shared accounts or to sell any marital property.
Pedro has accused Chantel of withdrawing a massive six-figure sum from a shared business account.

Per Pedro’s filing, Chantel took out more than a third of a million dollars prior to their formal separation.
That money is allegedly now in an account in Chantel and Winter’s names.
It is possible that this accusation is true, or simply true-but-complicated. This may be why Chantel is paying $7,500 to Pedro’s attorney.

Chantel’s response to Pedro’s filing came months later.
She accused Pedro of adultery and of abuse during their marriage.
Chantel also asked the court to seal their divorce, to prevent details from becoming public knowledge.

Obviously, details are still public knowledge.
It is possible that the supply of fresh information may be cut off soon.
That said … when public figures divorce, the world often learns details whether or not the court wishes it.

Chantel and Pedro first joined the franchise on 90 Day Fiance Season 4.
The two clearly loved each other. They have, after all, been married for five years.
For a long time, their biggest obstacle was their families.

When Pedro and his sister broke out into a brawl with Chantel’s family, producers had to rush in and break things up.
That bad behavior earned everyone involved a reward.
Pedro and Chantel received a franchise first: their very own spinoff, The Family Chantel. Will the show outlast their marriage?
